The Cayman Islands Directors Association (“CIDA”) is pleased to announce that they will be running the Directors Accreditation Course again this year. It is run in conjunction with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (“CGIC”) (formerly Institute of Chartered Secretaries Canada), with the instructors presenting in person here in the Cayman Islands. The course will run from 9 am to 4 pm each day.

The course materials will be available in advance of the course so that the attendee can prepare for the three days of interactive in-person sessions. Upon successful completion of the course, the attendee will be able to use the letters “Acc. Dir.” for Accredited Director after their name. The course is aimed at providing further education to Directors in the field of corporate governance and is of benefit to experienced directors and those wishing to gain further insight into corporate governance.

This year’s course will be held in person at the Hotel Indigo with the dates yet to be confirmed around the end of November or first week of December 2026. The last half day will also be held at Hotel Indigo and will consist of presentations on key industry topics by local Cayman Islands presenters and will be open to the wider CIDA membership.

The sessions are currently scheduled as follows:

  • 30 November 2026 – Day 1 – Governance
  • 1 December 2026 – Day 2 – Financial Disclosure and Reporting
  • 2 December 2026 – Day 3 – Strategic Planning and Risk Management
  • 3 December 2026 – Educational Day for Cayman Islands Industry topics (finishes at 2 pm)
  • 4 December 2026 – Day 4 – (held for additional stream if demand persists)

CIDA invites those who are interested in attending the course to visit CGIC’s website for further information on the program: https://www.cgiofcanada.ca/certification/directors-education-accreditation-program-deap/
