Dear Member,

The Cayman Islands Directors Association (“CIDA”) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Directors’ Education and Accreditation Program (DEAP) 2026.

The course is run in conjunction with the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (“CGIC”) (formerly Institute of Chartered Secretaries Canada), with the instructors presenting in person in the Cayman Islands. The course will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The course materials will be available in advance of the course so that the attendee can prepare for the three days of interactive in-person sessions. Upon successful completion of the course, the attendee will be able to use the letters Acc. Dir. for Accredited Director after their name. The course is aimed at providing further education to Directors in the field of corporate governance and is of benefit to experienced directors and those wishing to gain further insight into corporate governance.

Venue: Hotel Indigo, Grand Cayman

Format: Two streams (three CGIC teaching days each)

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Educational Day finishes at 2:00 p.m.)

Member contribution: US$1,900

Non-member fee: US$2,400

Two streams

Due to demand, DEAP 2026 will be delivered in two streams. Each stream comprises three interactive in-person teaching days, plus the mandatory CIDA Educational Day on Thursday 3 December. Stream allocation will be confirmed after applications close. Requests to change stream should be sent to membership@cida.ky.

This year’s course will be held in person at Hotel Indigo. Lunch and refreshments are included on teaching days.

The contribution towards the course by CIDA members will be US$1,900, with CIDA paying the remainder of the expenses. This represents a substantial discount to the cost of taking the course in Canada with CGIC. The fee for non-members will be US$2,400.

Please note that the course numbers are strictly limited, and they will be offered to CIDA members on a first to register and pay basis. Thereafter if there is space available those will be offered to non-CIDA members.

Do not send payment until CIDA confirms your place. Proof of payment should then be sent to membership@cida.ky.

CIDA invites those who are interested in attending the course to visit CGIC’s website for further information on the program: Directors’ Education & Accreditation Program (DEAP).

Successful candidates who wish to use the Acc. Dir. designation pay CGIC’s ongoing annual fee (currently CAD$300, commencing 2027) and must meet any continuing education requirements set by CGIC.

Attendance on DEAP is separate from CIDA membership. Questions may be directed to membership@cida.ky.

  1. in advance of the course to contribute US$1,900 (US$2,400 non-member) towards the cost of the course via Butterfield to the account of “the Cayman Islands Directors Association Ltd.” Available upon request from membership@cida.ky. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL CIDA CONFIRMS YOUR PLACE ON THE COURSE. Send proof of payment to membership@cida.ky.
  2. in advance of the course to read the study materials.
  3. I understand that the study materials will ONLY be provided to me electronically.
  4. the course is held in person at Hotel Indigo from 30 November to 4 December 2026 (two streams; each stream is three teaching days plus the Educational Day).
  5. There will be an additional half day on Thursday 3 December that will consist of presentations on key industry topics by local presenters and will be open to the wider CIDA membership and is required by DEAP attendees.
  6. to pay the ongoing annual fee of Chartered Governance Institute of Canada (starting in 2027) to use the designation of Acc. Dir. if I am successful (currently CAD$300).
  7. to comply with any continuing educational requirements that the Dir. Acc. may be required by Chartered Governance Institute of Canada.
  8. I understand that the places are strictly limited and they are offered on a first come first allocated basis and refunds may not be possible.
  9. That your attendance on the course will not be confirmed until you have paid the US$1,900 (US$2,400 non-CIDA members) contribution to CIDA.
  10. Attending the DEAP Course is separate from the membership of CIDA, if you are not a member yet please apply on CIDA’s website www.cida.ky if you are eligible.
